FiberFloor is a new type of flooring by Canadian manufacturer Tarkett that combines the quick installation of laminate, the cushion of a carpet and the maintenance of vinyl. Tarkett is certified across North America for its low rating of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in its adhesives and paints. VOC’s can adversely affect air quality in your house. FiberFloor also has sound deadening capabilities due to its foam core, and it will prevent the growth of mold and mildew.
The Tarkett® FiberFloor® Protection System™ features five everyday-life-resistant layers. FiberFloor has a full-printed barrier backing that prevents discoloration and stains coming from underneath, making it ideal for installation in humid areas.
Layer 1 – Finish layer: Protects against scratches, scuffs and stains for easy cleaning and maintenance
Layer 2 – Wear layer: Prevents wear, rips, tears, gouges and indentations
Layer 3 – TechniCore™ foam layer: Adds cushion, additional indentation protection, and a layer of insulation to make the floor feel warmer on your feet. The foam is treated with AquaGuard, a product to prevent mold growth.
Layer 4 – Engineered fiberglass inner layer: Utilizes woven fibers so it lays flat and won’t expand or contract for increased stability. This layer is a special woven fiberglass for increased stability, that controls the expansion and contraction of FiberFloor, which is particularly important with flooring as a lot of movement will cause buckling.
Layer 5 – TechniCore backing layer: This special backing adds a moisture and sound-resistant barrier for added performance. It prevents discoloration and stains coming from underneath, making it ideal for installation in humid areas.
